SUNDAY QUESTIONS
Can we shine, can we soar today, complete
and whole, refreshed, renewed, letting go
of what was or has been, replacing it all
with a fresh vision and approach to living –
letting go of senseless constraints,
selecting instead a more spontaneous
path to our heaven on earth?
Do we not contain within the essential
ingredients for this catharsis – are we
not able to reach this sweet spot of
Divine being – this clear connection
waiting for our tacit awakening – our
coming to full, authentic life – the true
purpose of our existence waiting for
our arrival?
Is there not more, much more to this
moment of continual consciousness
then, a few pleasures mixed with
occasional struggle – have we not
found in these shifting sands the magic
of love so supreme it reaches us daily
to pull us into oneness – are we not now –
here and now – ready to abandon our
tired pursuit in favor of fresh existence?

I start out this post with an Affirmative Thought
I stumbled on this morning as I was checking
to see if I had used the phrase “sweet spot” for
the title of a previous post. I was directed to two
entries on my blog archives, this post featuring
Sunday Questions frankly stopped me in my tracks.
I realized, as often occurs on this wondrous
spiritual journey, as my eyes began filling
up with emotion, I was once again receiving
a message. You see, I have been working on
what will soon be a book of my spiritual poetry
titled, STEEPLES – THE SPIRITUAL POETRY
OF FINDING GOD ON THE TRAIN – NOTES ON
ENLIGHTENMENT – Quest For A Positive,
Personal Spirituality.
This book will feature over two hundred
poems, prayers, affirmative thoughts,
and notes, along with personal photos
of steeples existing near and dear to me.
(For me, steeples reflect, much like
our spiritual poetry, our innate desire
to connect with the Divine, to reach beyond
as individuals and congregations, reaching
to connect with the very essence of God).
Now, let me, hopefully, segue this to
the remainder of the post. Here goes.
The message of Finding God On The Train
The story has centered on the ability of each one
of us to connect with God directly and
personally, tapping into what we might
envision as an eternal broadcast set to
connect with whoever breaks through
and listens - much like the communication
we earthlings rocket into distant space,
hoping to connect with whom or whatever.
In reality, I believe this consciousness
based, prevailing message, is more
personally tailored to the individual listener.
The Quakers have centered their
Faith and worship around this concept
of a direct personal connection with God.
I do feel this is and may remain a point
of contention and confusion with many
of our more mature religious orientations.
So, with this post, I offer some additional
guidance in hopes of aiding those who are
actively in pursuit of the “still small voice,”
by amplifying some of the subtleties of this
interaction, at least based on my personal
guidance received over the first half
of this year.
First, as conveyed by this Affirmative
Thought below, we must understand
our sweet spot:
SWEET SPOT
Let us reach within and grasp
our sincerity, our authentic
essence, our precise and always
present - “individuator” –
the internal sweet spot where
God glows eternally.
Today, let us allow this presence
to express itself unobstructed,
touching our now, listening
as God’s support and concern
eases our distress, cleanses
our despair wakens our courage.
Yes, even with God intertwined,
we continue self-propelled,
stabilized, yet still with hands
on the wheel, maneuvering
our forward progress, seeking
still our intended target.

Next, I am often reminded via my spiritual
guidance, as the note below, titled Truth Mined
suggests that when we connect with this God
intertwined - within this communication slash
interaction - there exists a “whispered secret.”
Personally, I feel the secret, which requires mining
with “eyes ablaze and fingers bleeding,” suggested
by the note may reflect a personal message or
communication, possibly toward our authentic
identity, a clue to our fully becoming, or maybe
a suggestion for well-being. For this truth,
I believe we must each personally and
actively mine.
TRUTH MINED
Instilled deep within
is the secret -
the testimony of becoming -
framed in sentiments
and open harmonies,
desires, passionate longings,
wordless expressions which
pulls and tug
at all awareness,
all choice,
all speculation,
gripping our attention
until words like mountain
mist dissipates in sun-filled
light, drift from sight:
in this primal place, we must,
with grunts and groans,
reframe our notions
of “is” or “could be”
into expressions
of sincere utterance -
this truth must be mined
with eyes ablaze and
fingers bleeding, no simple
formulation or conjecture
will do to unearth its appeal,
conceive its melody,
whisper its secret.

This final segment of this guidance is offered below,
titled Passion’s Nectar was also received in this
series of communications, and reminds us that
spiritual pursuits require a form of compensation
or payment, often under the guise of pure passion.
As with all things spiritual, no casual approach
will suffice.
PASSION’S NECTAR
Nothing worth finding
is found without pursuit,
nothing worth acquiring
is acquired without payment;
in all measures, compensation –
through effort or vision,
through sweat or pain -
sparks the release
of the tangible substance,
allowing form justification
for existence, enabling
our penny-wise and pound-foolish
to free up that which is or
will be exchanged
for proper tender with
passion’s nectar extracted
for what is owed,
leaving us dazed but content.

With all this said, I believe it is still
persistence that will win the day.
WITH LOVE, G.
