There are times when the evil that surrounds us 

 

is incomprehensible; we are surely experiencing 

 

one of these times. That it is being done in the

 

name of God is just unfathomable.

 

As the note, I share below reminds, a meme

of evil has gained a foothold, as our global

culture has chosen to promote all things dark

and destructive as entertainment, our cultural

pastimes.

 

Although, we cannot personally stop these

random acts of global madness, perhaps

we can set in motion a new  focus, a viable

consciousness - a more wholesome and

worthy perspective.  

 

THIS MEME OF EVIL

 

It is the idea of evil, the intent of evil that surfaces

and finds a place in the collective consciousness.

It is this meme of evil, active, evolving, flourishing

that forms the presence of turmoil, destitution,

avarice, heartlessness – only by grabbing hold

of the content of consciousness can we counteract

its forming and reforming, its gaining power and

presence.  We each must resolve to think it into

diminishment, starting with our own mind control.

 

This meme of evil has gained a foothold, and at

times, an upper hand in this life. What we must

realize is that humanity is the generating force

of this dark, destructive meme, forged by lifetimes 

of fostering inhumanity and greed.

 

Today we feed the preservation of evil by opening

our psyches and our souls to a daily feeding of

media based demise, criminality, hatred, and

fictional homicide. Our culture is what now

represents us, and it is often dark and menacing,

brutal, unthinkable. The meme of evil thrives 

in our world of intolerance, hatred, and 

hopelessness.

 

We must consider, each of us, making it our

mission to reorder our thoughts and lives, basing

our efforts on the expansion of good, well-being,

thriving, hope: turning the tide – restoring 

a consciousness of good, for all.

FACETS OF LIFE/LIGHT 

The gem of life offers

            distinct facets of light,

hold it in contemplation,

            examine its flashes and shards;

 splashes of light,

                        chips of light,

                                    tossing the senses

                        to and fro,

    with clarity,

then explosions,

            then reflective wonder:

know this is the very

            nature of God’s scintillation,

present in every intimate

            and minute detail,

an orchestrated marvel,

            a dance of divine illumination -

                                    focus as you will;

fully recognize that

            each delicate spark conveys

                        one note of a more

magnificent image –

            a truth reflected.
