ONE HEART, PERFORMED BY JD MARTIN AND JAN GARRETT
I attended a Unity service with songwriter JD Martin and his wife, the internationally renowned jazz singer Jan Garret, performing their spiritual songwriting for the congregation. As I listened, I was overcome by the beauty and profound wonder of the song's message, One Heart. It capsulized everything I was trying to convey on my blog and this book. It is truly a spiritual anthem, offered on the YouTube link above.
Thank you for joining me on this spiritual quest.
I wish you the best on your spiritual travels.

PART FOUR - GOD-CONSCIOUSNESS - THE DIVINITY OF HUMANKIND
CHAPTER FOURTEEN
THE MYSTIC WITHIN US ALL
AND THE CONCLUSION OF THIS BOOK
THE QUEST - MEDITATION GUIDANCE
We are each on a spiritual journey, both individual
and solitary, in search and pursuit of our Divinity -
the God which lives within us – the God we are
and will always be. Each life we encounter
along the way is involved in this becoming -
whether realized or unaware.
It is your spiritual mission to allow this journey
to unfold within you as your Divinity within – deep
within – pushing you towards the fresh breath
of new life – maneuvering your Soul through
the illusion, the fears, the doubts, the ego’s dreams –
and even, at times – resuscitating the Divine you,
pounding on your chest until a heartbeat appears
and a gasp of consciousness is surrendered.
This awakening is not easy – it requires the resolution
of the conflicting voices in your mind – the demons
of your journey to be faced and overcome
in the effort to create a sort of symbiotic coexistence
in a united attempt to reveal your own identity and evolve.
This Divine becoming requires the courage to risk
all of life for the essence of true life – to die to be
reborn anew – personally evolved and one with God.
God truly waits within for you to arrive.

MYSTICAL JOY
For the mystics through the ages, spiritual joy and Divine love seem to represent the state of being lost in the love of God. Therefore, I find poetry the perfect medium to express spiritual sentiments such as joy and Divine love, as in my poem below titled Divine Light. Note that these poems often sound like traditional love poems and reference what seems like romantic love to describe the spiritual experience.
DIVINE LIGHT - SPIRITUAL POEM
The sun shines brightly on my Soul
full of love and joy, waiting
to burst forth on this day
and on humanity
warm – enticing – penetrating
like a lover in full ecstasy –
I am alive within the Divine
within the energy of life
refreshed.
Rumi, the Sufi mystic and poet, was born in Afghanistan in 1207 and wrote many poems on spiritual love and ecstasy. Only after a few readings do you realize he refers to God, not some overpowering romantic love. The Sufis describe this type of love as “full fana,” which represents annihilation in God. For example, here is the poem O Love by Rumi.
O LOVE
O Love, O pure deep Love, be here, be now
Be all – worlds dissolve into your
Stainless, endless radiance,
Frail, living leaves burn with your brighter
Than cold stares
Take me your servant, your breath, your core.
MYSTICAL YEARNINGS
DAILY POST ON ENLIGHTENMENT
yearn –verb 1. to have an earnest or strong
desire for; long. 2. to feel tenderness;
be moved or attracted. Listen for the stirrings and yearnings
of a clearer being, a more precious progression.
As the note below contends, we are beings of yearning, often forged in deep subterranean places, smoldering until creating an ache that takes form and purpose, often alive within us, working to steer our intentions, appropriating even our worthier activities. These yearnings are so delicate, determined, and fragile, but incredibly strong and persistent, even possibly, potentially disastrous, yet wondrous, so alive with potential – our muses, even our creative underpinnings.
These yearnings are often like frustrated children, wanting what they want without regard to rationality, formality, or, in some extreme cases, even decency. Often, our lives are impacted by the effective management or mismanagement of our yearnings. It took me a lifetime to understand that at the core of my being, there existed a set of spiritual/mystical yearnings, smothering beneath a pile of worldly desires and ambitions – success, recognition, love, creative value, smoldering while not gaining notice until they set my life ablaze.
I am not saying we must deny our secular yearnings outright, taking up an ascetic life. Still, we also need to incorporate our spiritual yearnings fully into this secular mix by first establishing what these spiritual yearnings resonate with, then breathing life into them, if plausible. Our joy, rapture, spiritual renewal, and even our authentic being may hinge on answering these spiritual yearnings.
MYSTICAL YEARNINGS
Let us not be fooled by the machinations of our desires,
maneuvering cleverly to obtain the sought-after resolution,
to create a scenario of want or need, perhaps,
to placate the yearnings of physical intent and grasping.
Let us realize this instinctual thirst is forever perpetuated
by the ebb and flow of ancient, even primordial genetic concoctions,
internal elixirs and potions set to caress or coerce
when thought will not oblige or impulse accommodate.
Let us correct and adjust as appropriate, not condemning
outright, but rather dabbling tastefully when advantageous,
when beneficial, worthy, not driven by an urge,
but rather inspired by it,
fully sane and politely controlled.

OUR PROGRESS TO DATE
The spiritual/mystical journey is a search for God – an effort to find God and make a personal connection to understand our origins, meaning, and authentic Divine purpose. In Part Two–The Message, I have focused on laying the foundation for us to understand a framework for mapping out our efforts and the tools for preparing us for the journey. In Chapter Five – The Foundation, I emphasized that the most communication I have received on the train has been about developing a lasting ongoing communication and personal connection with God, which is what I believe to be the essence of enlightenment. This journey to enlightenment is through the Soul - referred to in my guidance as the Crystal Self or Divine Self – through this Divine Soul within us, we are connected to God's infinite intelligence and power.
CRYSTAL SELF / MEDITATION GUIDANCE
The Crystal Self is the Divine Self – the Divine Soul
within you, that is connected to infinite intelligence
and the power of God. It is your Soul - like a crystal –
hard and durable – capable of growing and becoming
more. Through the crystal, all light passes and
becomes more, unfolding into the spectrum of a full life.
The Crystal of the Divine Self has always existed,
and will always exist, and is the essence of your Soul
spiritually evolving and becoming. The reason for
your existence is to rediscover this Crystal Self, follow
its path, and become one with your Divine Self/Soul
and begin to grow again, drawing strength and
power from your connection with the Infinite
Source, Spirit – God.
Cherish the Crystal Self and follow the path back
to your true consciousness – unreflected,
unexpected by the ego – which is constantly
forming and reforming to scare away and deal
with the threats of the world.
The path to enlightenment is the Crystal Path –
the path to the Divine you.
NOE BY G. 1.17.2008 7:15 AM
So, as the Crystal or Divine Self evolves – this evolving Soul searches to connect with God to obtain full God-consciousness. The message presented in Chapter Five awakens us to a portal to this God-consciousness - The Heartlight – described as a beacon of the Soul transmitting radiant energy and acting as a conduit for connecting with this center of all connection. We were told that when the Heartlight is entered deeply, we access a plane of full consciousness, allowing us to experience true wholeness and spiritual equilibrium. We must access and utilize this Heartlight to touch our true Divinity.
The message outlined in both Chapter Five - the Foundation and Chapter Six - The Seven Facets also points us to a “Unified Universal Force,” which consists of the creative energy of all life and matter – a unified force of all universal life, forming connections; made one by the love of God. This Unified Universal Force connects all existence within God and provides a “Conscious Connection” at the core of all life and existence in our universe - from the smallest particle of matter to the full life of human form – all life is conscious of its existence and exerts its will over the outcome and impact of all by its actions. All consciousness is connected, which allows communication between all matter. A vibrational connection flows through this connected consciousness - through this Universal Consciousness.
All we have discussed in the book has led to the interaction of our Soul referenced in the earlier guidance regarding the Spiritual Mind, Divine Mind with God-Consciousness, and what it entails. As the Crystal/Divine Self evolves, this evolving Soul fully connects with God, resulting in full God–Consciousness–Enlightenment. As Chapter Six describes, the Seven Facets Of Crystal Consciousness culminate in attaining a genuine, authentic, purposeful life – being fully you - and creating heaven on earth.
In Chapters Seven (Finding Joy and Peace) and Eight (Finding Love and Happiness; I propose a “chain of reasoning or fundamental truth” I believe God is conveying:
- Enlightenment is living as God intended and experiencing heaven on earth with joy, peace, love, and happiness.
- If we create a vision of heaven in our minds, then we will exist in heaven.
- As spiritual beings, this life is a gift from God to grow spiritually and an opportunity to experience life as God would experience it – with joy, peace, love, and happiness.
Our focus in Chapters Nine (Mind Control), Ten (Fear, Worry, Doubt, and Related Meme Control), and Eleven (Mind Control, Approaches, and Techniques) is Mind Control - The Control Of Consciousness, clearing our minds and establishing a level playing field through mind control. It is time for us to proceed to the final stop on our spiritual train commute and continue outlining the message from God I am conveying on the blog and within the book. With our mind chatter, egos, fears, worries, and doubts in at least partial check, we venture deeper into our conscious, subconscious, and unconscious minds to comprehend our Divinity, our Soul, and its connection to the Universal Consciousness of God.
It is Chapter Thirteen, titled Spirituality And Science Converge - God Consciousness Evolves, the lead-off chapter of Part Four - God Consciousness and The Divinity Of Humankind, explores the personal and universal mind while offering an excellent definition of Individual Consciousness as “the totality of one’s thought, feelings and impressions - conscious mind." We discussed that the spirituality of enlightenment is all about consciousness - with the Individual Consciousness or mind connecting and interfacing with Universal Consciousness or mind. The message conveyed that even a tiny particle of consciousness is the total consciousness of God - an essential cell of God-consciousness forming and manifesting the world into creation.
We discussed that the New Thought world had coined various phrases over the past two hundred years to label this Universal Consciousness; the best-known terms are Universal Mind, Divine Mind, Infinite Mind, Infinite Intelligence, Creative Mind, and God-Consciousness. We also acknowledged that the scientific community urged on from the research of Quantum Physics, and the realities of medical science have begun to address the possibility of this Universal or Nonlocal Mind. I want to explore the message I have received regarding the Divine nature within each of us and how it can be tapped to improve our lives by revealing our authentic spiritual purpose.
Yet this God we seek connection with is not external to us but within us – God moves through us, with us, and surrounds us. As human beings, we have this connection to Divinity – we are part of a magnificent, growing, expanded God, but of course, we are not God. We can never become God, for a part of the whole cannot become the whole that it is part of initially. But we can connect with our God nature – through our Divine nature, and we have the power to emulate God and create our collective heaven on earth.
This life is a journey where we discover our Divinity within – pursue our true God nature, and by touching this presence, we evolve in our awakening. No greater force exists than this force of good within us – our connected God-consciousness self-reflecting the spark, the cell of all creation, our internal guide, our beacon of worthiness always moving us beyond the mundane to the sublime. The critical point is that God is always with us – at the center of all of us, refusing to allow us to be swallowed up by our confusion, constantly trying to speak with us, persuade us, and cajole us to our senses.
Of course, this journey is never easy, as expressed in the enchanting song, New Soul, by Yael Naim – a French/Israeli singer-songwriter of Tunisian origin who served in the Israeli Defense Forces. It is interesting to note that Steve Jobs 2008 helped this beautiful song hit the Billboard Top 100 chart when he hand-selected it for the commercials introducing the MacBook Air. This song portrays the challenge of this spiritual journey in a very strange world.

NEW SOUL -Yael Naim (Official Video)
I'm a new soul
I came to this strange world
Hoping I could learn a bit 'bout how to give and take
But since I came here, felt the joy and the fear
Finding myself making every possible mistake
La, la, la, la
La, la, la, la
See I'm a young soul in this very strange world
Hoping I could learn a bit 'bout what is true and fake
But why all this hate? try to communicate
Finding trust and love is not always easy to make
La, la, la, la (2x)
La, la, la, la (2x)
This is a happy end
Cause you don't understand
Everything you have done
Why's everything so wrong
This is a happy end
Come and give me your hand
I'll take you far away
I'm a new soul
I came to this strange world
Hoping I could learn a bit 'bout how to give and take
But since I came here, felt the joy and the fear
Finding myself making every possible mistake

THE UNDISCOVERED SELF
The more I explore the message of this Divinity or God nature within us that I have received on this topic, the more I understand that our true creative and life power emanates from this Divine source or spark – this Crystal Self or Soul. Our spiritual job is understanding, tapping into, and using it for our and humankind's benefit. My message reveals an active God who knows our potential as a new Soul, possibilities, and intended destination, fully prepared to love us through our unique life opportunities.
Your vision will become clear only when you
look into your heart. He who looks outside
dreams. He who looks inside awakens.
Dr. Carl G. Jung
This awakening is not easy – it requires the resolution of the conflicting voices in our minds – the demons of our journey to be faced and overcome to create a sort of symbiotic co-existence in a united effort to reveal our authentic purpose and evolve. This “Divine becoming” requires the courage to risk all of life for the essence of true life – to die to be reborn anew – personally evolved and one with God. The Meditation Guidance that follows, titled The Approach, clearly conveys the effort required to ignite and keep burning the light within us truly.
THE APPROACH - MEDITATION GUIDANCE
The approach to your inherent Divinity takes work – concentrated
effort – a force of will where you take control of your mental chaos –
your ego madness, and move your consciousness toward adopting
and evolving to the true God-given qualities that lie dormant but exist
within you. This is not a sojourn on the path to enlightenment but
a fully committed act of will – an act requiring total commitment
and diligence.
The approach to your inherent Divinity takes daily training and
preparation – to inhabit God's qualities of compassion, love,
caring, kindness, forgiveness, patience, poise, and creative power
indeed, based on the worthiness and oneness of all - the connection
of all life and its innate right to grow into full potential - this does
not just appear but must be sewn with the passion of true faith
and desire.
The approach to your inherent Divinity – your God nature given
life and formwork in a continual process requiring an ongoing
reflection, assessment, and readjustment – striving only on constant
feedback and correction. This is the enlightenment that awaits
when you - approach this opportunity with courage and the strength
of your whole heart – pushing through your limitations
and the misdirection of the others on the path until one day,
the door swings open, and the truth is revealed.
NOE BY G. 2.5.2011 9:27 AM
Much of my spiritual effort is based on meditating, listening, and journaling what I have heard or experienced. This book, as you know, is based on this material. Although, as a rule, I have often tried to avoid digging deep into non-spiritual related issues, this has been a productive part of the Soul-searching experience for many. In addition, those who practice centering prayer have shared intense psychological awakenings from this experience.
But I would interject a word of caution that focusing on “ego” generated problems and past conditioning may lead you away from instead of closer to your destination. Overall, this experience aims to build you up, improve your confidence, and not tear you down or cause you pain or confusion. If the latter conditions develop, your ego may have taken control of the process, and it is time to refocus on spiritual rather than psychological issues.
Dr. Carl G. Jung did just this and, throughout his lifetime, documented his Soul-searching journey in the Red Book – the title based on the color of the cover of his journal. It includes his reflections, dreams, musings, and extensive artwork documenting the journey. Jung called his ultimate goal “individuation,” a psychiatric term on par with “enlightenment,” “self-realization,” or “attainment.” It was not an easy journey for Jung, who commented in the Red Book, “every step closer to my soul excites the scornful laughter of my devils.” It may have been not easy, but it was fruitful; from this experience came most of Jung’s insights into the psychology of human behavior. Unfortunately, the material of the Red Book was so personal and disturbing to Jung’s family members that the book was not published until 2009, forty-eight years after he died in 1961.
What we find within is not always pleasing, and for some, spiritual or secular counseling assistance may be needed when making this Soul-searching pilgrimage. The Meditation Guidance that follows, titled Cleanse The Spirit – Free The Soul, directed at my personal life mess when transcribing, underscores that often we may be required to do some significant excavating to find our Crystal or Divine Self within. As Jung pointed out, often, we must clear out the real or imagined demons holding us hostage.
CLEANSE THE SPIRIT – FREE THE SOUL - MEDITATION GUIDANCE
Cleanse the spirit to free the Soul. Look into your very spirit,
life force, and singular essence, assessing its condition.
Walk into the room of your spirit and see the debris, the useless,
the past pain, the unforgiven, the litter of your experience that
blocks your progress and movement on the Crystal Path to
enlightenment.
Take a moment and scan the contents. Are they gray, dark,
dim, bright, colorful, or cheerful? Take a moment to breathe in
and smell your spirit. Is it stale, musty, putrid, rotten, fresh,
scented, appealing, or pleasant? This is the spirit – this is the
essence of your spirituality – cluttered by negative emotions,
hurts, frustrations, fears, and unfulfilled wants.
You must cleanse the spirit to free the Soul – to save the Soul,
release the Soul, prepare the Soul. Release – forgive –
let each piece of your littered past be deleted forever. Explore –
pick up each past hurt, each guilty moment, and forgive yourself,
forgive others, forgive the world, life, and God until it disappears
and vanishes from the room. This is the work of enlightenment.
Clear the obstructions, cleanse the spirit with the tools provided –
affirmations, denials, releasing, forgiving, loving, accepting.
Find a place for all memories – accept or deny – let them dissolve
and clear your spirit.
When your spirit is open, fresh, full of the light of now – open –
spacious – ready and waiting to receive – your Soul will be free
to appear protected, accepted, and connected to the Infinite Soul
of all humankind. Your God presence, the ability for all to be
the son or daughter of God – will be free and able to grow and
blossom.
It is time to assess and cleanse the spirit. No baggage is needed
on this trip – your spirit must be able to move freely and expand.
Your Soul will flourish, and you will take another step on the path.
Cleanse the spirit – free the Soul.

THE DIVINITY OF HUMANKIND
THE LOST MESSAGE OF JESUS
As we deep dive into the concept of the Divinity within each of us and our connection with God and Universal God-Consciousness, we must reflect on the lost message of Jesus, that is, humankind's Divine ability to connect directly with God. We will find ourselves again reaching out to the works of Rev. Eric Butterworth - the New York City Unity Minister, who conducted services at Avery Fisher Hall in the Lincoln Center and was recognized as one of the top religious leaders in America of the 20th century. Let's focus briefly on his classic book - Discover The Power Within You - A Guide To the Unexplored Depths Within and its guidance on reaching this God connection by following Jesus's example and guidance.
Jesus discovered his own Divinity, His unique relationship
with the infinite. He discovered that through faith, He could
open doors into the inexhaustible Mind of God.
Eric Butterworth -
Discover the Power Within You
Butterworth says this "was the great discovery of the world within, the breaking down of the 'middle wall of partition' between man and God." This was the beginning of the Age of Christ, the Divinity of Humankind. To fully appreciate this, Butterworth suggests that we must resist worshipping Jesus since he ceases to be the way-shower for our self-realization and self-unfoldment when we do so. I would recommend whether you see Jesus as the Son of Man, the Son of God, or as a God-connected Rabbi who believes every human can connect with God as they develop a relationship with God. His unique message was that the Kingdom Of God is within each of us.
Butterworth recommends that we each read and study the New Testament and what Jesus truly intended to convey. Therefore, I strongly suggest reading what is now a classic - Butterworth's Discover The Power Within You. With the help of this book, I have been rereading the Gospels, highlighting both known and not-so-familiar quotes along with Jesus's connection with God through an intense prayer practice.
I will open with a few Finding God On The Train Story blog posts that provide a frame of reference for this approach, indicating that my guidance follows this line of reasoning.
I have decided to use the HOLY BIBLE FROM THE ANCIENT EASTERN TEXT, George M. Lamsa's Translations From The Aramaic of The Peshitta. Since Jesus and the Jews of his time spoke in Aramaic, the Gospels would have been originally orally communicated and shared in Jesus's native Aramaic before being edited, redrafted, and translated into Greek, Latin, German, and finally, English. (Peshitta, (Syriac: "simple" or "common") Syriac version of the Bible, the accepted Bible of Syrian Christian churches from the end of the 3rd century CE.) As a result, there may be differences in the original text.
Neither will they say, Behold, it is here! Or, behold, it is there!
For behold, the kingdom of God is within you. (Luke 17:21)
Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall
be open to you. For whoever asks receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to him
who knocks, the door is opened. (Matthew 6:7-8)
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and allow these things
shall be added to you. (Matthew 6:33)

OUR DIVINE PARTNERSHIP
DAILY POST ON ENLIGHTENMENT
The Law of Attraction, as it is most widely known, proposes that God has set in motion a natural/universal law that enables us to attract whatever we desire into our lives, as long as we do so with faith and fully aligned intention. As I write this, I wonder if Jesus originated this Law of Attraction concept. His central message centered on using prayer effectively to obtain what we desire or intend. And, of course, his use of prayer in healing kickstarted the New Thought movement.
In his exceptional book The Third Jesus, The Christ We Cannot Ignore, Deepak Chopra explores this connection and much more. The note below asks us to stretch, to see beyond the limitations set in motion by well-meaning but misguided authorities. I would have to guess that this warning probably includes me, so please understand that this is my opinion or impression, not meant to challenge yours.
Note, in this quest for a positive personal spirituality, we who have declared spiritual independence - spiritual freelancers, so to speak, all get to create our approach, believing what we wish, what works for us or moves us, and in the end, if desired: free to tailor our own personal dogma. We might call this approach a “personalized spirituality.”
In truth, I don’t really believe that we are attracting “bad or evil” into our lives based on the Law of Attraction. We do this very well, without help, with our ego-based efforts. Our indwelling Divine connection knows what is essential for our authentic development: it is fully aware of our calling and cocreatively works with us - when we cooperate and are aligned - to accomplish what we truly need to fulfill our mission.
I believe we are the hands and feet of God and must take an active – “constructive” –role in the cocreative process. This may be why success seems to come to those who are prepared and willing to work hard to accomplish their intentions. This makes even more sense to be aligned and refers to our being constructively involved in what we wish to attract.
OUR DIVINE PARTNERSHIP - AFFIRMATIVE THOUGHT
We often must stretch to see beyond the limitations
placed on God and humanity by well-meaning,
but misguided authorities, realizing instead
the integral relationship which exists between
the creative force and the constructive,
effort-based force.
As we understand and fully accept the creative
nature of God, let us take advantage of this gift
and grace, seeking guidance and direction, asking
for insight and suggestions, allowing God to inspire
our plans and make clear the way forward.
Then, let us realize our individual constructive
effort is required, we must implement the actions
needed, lay the bricks, plant the seeds, gather
the resources to support the undertaking,
doing what needs to be done and, in the end,
reap the harvest of our Divine partnership.
AT BY G. 1.9.2021
“Whatever you ask for in prayer with faith, you will receive.” (Matthew 21:22)
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and allow these things

It is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom (Luke 12:32)
Enter in through the narrow door, for wide is the door, and broad is the road
which carries to destruction, and many are those who travel on it. O how narrow
is the door, and how difficult is the road which carries life, and few are those
who are found on it. (Matthew 6:13-14)

POWER OF CHRIST
DAILY POST ON ENLIGHTENMENT
In New Thought, Christ consciousness often refers to our Divine Center or Soul, which exists within us and serves as our portal or connection to God. The Hebrew Mystics, who follow the teachings of the Kabbalah, believe in the existence of many Soul levels, with the “Neshama”—meaning breath—associated with the highest level of human spiritual awareness and connection with God. If you function from this “Neshama” Soul or Spirit level, I will consider that you have reached enlightenment.
I would also say that Abraham, Moses, Isaiah, Jesus, the other Hebrew prophets, Buddha, Mohammad, Lao Tzu, and many other spiritual beings have reached this higher awareness and connection with the Source. If you are not Christian, you could easily think of this as Moses-Consciousness, Mohammad-consciousness, or Buddha-Consciousness - because I believe all three of these spiritual avatars listed above have reached an inner mystical state of awareness and Divine connection with the Tao, Allah, Source, Universal Intelligence, Infinite Mind, Universal God-Consciousness or any term you wish to use to refer to a Divine relationship with God. Here is a meditative note discussing this level of spiritual awareness as Christ-Consciousness.
POWER OF CHRIST - MEDITATION GUIDANCE
The answer is within the guidance, the path, and the way to enlightenment.
Live through the consciousness of your Christ center. Find the center –
move towards it and reach for its peace, joy, and harmony with life.
The voice of the Christ within you is soft but profound. Listen internally
through prayer and meditation. Disregard the warnings of the ego that
may pretend to be the voice of Christ within.
You want so much more - money, power recognition, control, but these
are illusions created by a false reality. Live pure, clear, honest, and
loving; you will work beyond the ego. Your ego would have you believe
that your actions, or failure to act, create this reality. Beware of your
thinking; it is not a positive force. The thoughts you have are often not
based on logic but on pain.
Be proud and loving and accept who you are. You are a positive life force
that has accomplished much under significant challenges. Christ loves you and
truly appreciates your strength, kindness, love, and spirit of adventure.
Move to the center – to the Christ spirit within.

Whoever, therefore, will humble himself like this little child shall be great

Which was sown upon good soil, this is he who hears my word and understands it,
so he bears fruit and produces some one hundredfold and some sixty. (Matthew 13:23)
Jesus answered (Nicodemus), saying to him, Truly, truly, I say to you, If a man is
not born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Nicodemus said to him, How can an old man be born again? (John 3:3-4)
(Born again in Northern Aramaic means to change one's thoughts and habits.
Nicodemus spoke Southern Aramaic and hence did not understand Jesus.)

There is something pure and tenderly spiritual in the performances of the fifteen-year-old Charlotte Church and the nineteen-year-old Josh Groban performances of "The Prayer" with the National Orchestra of Wales - Live in Cardiff 2001.
The Prayer was initially written for the film Quest For Camelot to be performed in English by Celine Dion and in Italian by Andra Bocceli. It appeared on the Quest for Camelot soundtrack in May 1998. Celine Dion first performed "The Prayer" live with Josh Groban in 1999 when the 17-year-old Groban filled in for Andrea Bocelli at rehearsal for the 41st Annual Grammy Awards.
"The Prayer"
Written by David Foster, Carole Bayer Sager, Alberto Testa, and Tony Renis.
And watch us where we go
And help us to be wise
In times when we don't know
Let this be our prayer

Lead us to a place
Guide us with your Grace
To a place where we'll be safe
La luce che tu dai
I pray we'll find your light
Nel cuore restera
And hold it in our hearts
A ricordarci che
When stars go out each night
L'eterna stella sei
Nella mia preghiera
Let this be our prayer
Quanta fede c'e
When shadows fill our day
Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe.
Sogniamo un mondo senza piu violenza
Un mondo di giustizia e di speranza
Ognuno dia la mano al suo vicino
Simbolo di pace e di fraternita
La forza che ci dai
We ask that life be kind
E'il desiderio che
And watch us from above
Ognuno trovi amore
We hope each Soul will find
Intorno e dentro a se
Another soul to love
Let this be our prayer
Let this be our prayer
Just like every child
Just like every child
Needs to find a place,
Guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe
E la fede che
Hai acceso in noi
Sento che ci salvera

BEING AND BEINGNESS
After months of reading modern philosophy, science, and religious works to support my theory of Universal God-consciousness, I have been drawn back to explore the rationality of the message of Finding God On The Train Story, perhaps to provide it with a more coherent and understandable framework.
Two key terms—being and beingness—are at the core of what I believe I am tasked to convey. First, you and I and all sentient existence provide the essence of what I would refer to as a “conscious being.” That is, each individuated being has been provided with some actual awareness to some degree, with us human beings having, thanks to our language capability and our expandable brains, the most refined and defined capacity.
Each “conscious being” carries with it, to some degree, a perspective of the world, always individuated but made similar by shared culture, education, signs, and symbols. Of course, much of the infrastructure of our existence is provided by “non-conscious beings” – earth, rocks, sand, mountains, etc. that exist but do not fully consciously contribute.
Next, the “beingness” I refer to here is the creative force and glue that allows all of us “beings” to exist. Although we struggle to describe and name this force, it represents the essence of tangible existence. For most, God pushes us to authentic aliveness, stretching, growing, and evolving us to become more.
Although we may disagree about its nature, it is, for many, a force for all that is good in the world. The note below further clarifies being and beingness and our intricate, intertwined relationship.
BEING AND BEINGNESS - MEDITATION GUIDANCE
We are each of us, singular or in the plural, the being
of beingness, as its very essence stretches to enlarge,
grow and evolve through existential interaction.
Let us comprehend our primary cause, our purposeful effect.
Let us embrace the beingness as it fuels our mastery of life,
of living, as it works with us through encouraging, prompting,
clearing the way for our and all humanity’s progress. Touch
the beingness within you and surrounding you; listen deeply
and intently – working to discern its message, knowing all
this is essential to all aliveness; celebrate the intention
of collective being, aware of the gentle hands of beingness
prompting the full accomplishment of heaven on earth:
Be the being of beingness!
NOE BY G. 12.20.2016
As we have discussed, the focus of the Finding God On The Train Story message is that God and humankind interact through a shared consciousness. As a result, as the note below conveys, it is a “logical” outgrowth of this conceptual framework that we share a combined existence, teamed to make the most of our endeavors and our lives. This is facilitated, and the benefits of coexistence are maximized when we buy into this framework.
Likewise, this notion is built on the premise that every living being has an inner Divine nature and connection, that even with flat-out negation, this Divine connection cannot be turned off or severed. Thus, the opportunity for this inner Divinity to assist even the lost with reclaiming their redemption.
We believe in combined being and are uniquely positioned to cocreate our lives of joy, peace, love, and happiness with God – heaven on earth. Others will benefit from God’s close proximity and ability to assist when possible.
COMBINED BEING - MEDITATION GUIDANCE
The lasting partnership of total oneness asks for only
acceptance, a willingness to be one with the enveloping
of the consciousness of the eternal Spirit, open to its flow,
its push and pull of complete awareness.
This consciousness incubates and fosters the individually
perceived awareness, seen by most as distinct and separate.
Spirit is with you as the air you breathe is with you,
dislocation, separation is untenable, impossible;
yet many conjure a distance between the created
and the creative force of all.
Understand that Spirit, the infinite awareness, through
the Soul provides the framework for a lasting partnership
of combined being, able to live and be a united unfolding
presence, open to engender form from well-intentioned
thought, to partner in the cocreative wonder of living,
being, becoming.

RECLAMATION
DAILY POST ON ENLIGHTENMENT
reclamation - rescuing from error and
returning to the rightful course.
At these times, I think I may be suffering from an affliction of intrusive, spiritual thoughts as I wake again to my new word of the day -"reclamation" - on my mind. Of course, I always look up the definition to make sure I understand the often diverse meanings. As I focused on the above definition, I realized this is a compelling concept.
As usual, I centered my meditation on the word and spent a half-hour receiving guidance on regaining my untapped power and perspective, all of which I needed. When I reached to write my note for today, I was not surprised to realize that more needed to be said, as I transcribed in the note below.
As I write this, I realize that I have started allowing erroneous thinking to trim my expectations, accepting less even before I have tested the waters, trimming my sails, so to speak, in anticipation of the strong wind even before I encounter a breeze, and as a result, limiting my perspective needlessly.
I guess it is time for a "reclamation project" on my intentions and dreams.
RECLAMATION - AFFIRMATIVE THOUGHT
Let us work to reclaim what is truly ours today,
our courage, our strength, our confidence in
the power we possess – the birthright so often lost
in self-generated fears and condemnation,
the spark of Divinity we carry within.
Let this reclamation be complete and thorough,
no room or allowance in our consciousness for
unwarranted thoughts of a malicious sentiment -
just the purity and clarity of our true natures –
who we represent - what we are entitled to –
our purposeful magnificence.
Today, we reclaim and reinstate the presence
mind, body, and spirit that ensure our complete
transcendence – allowing our sights to be fixed
on thriving and flourishing, transfixed on our
power to create heaven on earth and
the restoration of infinite well-being.

THE SIGN - THE AMERICAN MYSTICS
DAILY POST ON ENLIGHTENMENT
My spiritual orientation has been most influenced by the New Thought movement, which originated in the mid-1800s, as I explain in Chapter Three—New Thought Positive Spirituality Yesterday and Today, which is available with the final draft chapters of my book, starting with the Introduction and continuing through Chapter Fourteen, which is available free on the righthand sidebar of this blog.
New Thought owes its existence to the American Transcendentalist Movement, sparked by the genius of Ralph Waldo Emerson - following the philosophical lead of Kant, Emerson strived to construct a fresh and innovative philosophy for the newly democratic America that was unfolding, emphasizing the Divine in nature: the value of the individual and human intuition; focusing on a spiritual reality that “transcends” sensory experience, providing a better moral and life guide than purely empirical, logical reasoning; or the existing alternatives - faith-based or otherwise.
Emerson, following Plato, argued that the Divine is in each of us, a Soul-based connection expressing Divine guidance through our intuition. This intuition provided direction on how we should best live our lives individually. Not a new idea, but a very radical vision for the 1800s in colonial America. In this effort, Emerson was joined by a collection of the preeminent thinkers of his time, who formed the Transcendental Club; published the most forward-thinking and popular journal in America, The Dial, as they, individually and as a group; fueled the social change efforts to reform religion; abolish slavery; push for women’s rights; provide for more effective education and even experiment with new communal ways of living, such as Fruitland. These early innovators included Henry David Thoreau, Margaret Fuller, Dr. William Ellery Channing, Amos Bronson Alcott, Theodore Parker, Frederick Douglas, and later, Louisa May Alcott, Elizabeth Peabody, and Walt Whitman.
I review all of this to help put in perspective the guidance I share, remind readers why I use an intuitive style of “listening” for the still, small voice based on the practice of meditation, and encourage others to experiment with this technique for recording their own spiritual experience and guidance.
I consider my approach intuitive because as long as the guidance I receive is positive, I record it word for word without editing. Occasionally, I try to direct the topic, as I did on the day in September when I asked for a sign that I was still headed in the right direction. Below is the response, which I have titled The Sign. In this brief passage, I receive a response to my question, and although I am not given a sign, instead told to look for a sign by focusing on the dots rather than the whole picture, along with looking into the harmony linking what is.
So you may assume I have not yet uncovered the sign since I am not noting any direct revelation, but, as is my practice, I will continue peering until I do.
THE SIGN - MEDITATION GUIDANCE
Waiting near is a sign of our commitment,
the source of our enduring partnership
in this existence, look beyond the obvious,
the commonplace, through the expectations,
the tried and true, into the harmony linking
what is the backdrop providing the reality
screen, the appearance of tangible existence
with your consciousness, know what it isn’t,
it is an appearance; seek the dots that create
the picture, the dots form the basis of all existence,
the brick, the building block of what appears
permanent, solid, impenetrable, a world of dots
aligned for a purpose, with a meaning, a substance,
a mission. Peer deeply within and see the sign.
NOE BY G. 9.12.2014
POSTSCRIPT: One Saturday, not long after receiving this message, Ann and I were driving to and from the grandkid's soccer games, and Ann mentioned she had asked God for a sign regarding the solving of a family issue. I mentioned that I, during meditation, asked God for a sign that I was headed in the right direction with my spiritual quest and the blog. Although I received meditation guidance "to seek the dots that create the picture," and to "peer deeply and see the sign," I was confused about the meaning of the guidance. At that moment, a car pulled out of a side street directly in front of us with a vanity license plate displaying the word "HEARTLT" in caps. Ann said, Heartlight, I think you have gotten your sign.
For those interested in a more in-depth discussion of Transcendentalism than I cover in Chapter Three, I suggest an online visit to the “website of American Transcendentalism via the link under Related and Supportive Websites featured on the righthand column of the blog.

SOUL ON FIRE WITH GRACE - POEM
Lord, hold me firm in your love,
grasp me and shake me awake,
wipe the sleep of a thousand
years from my eyes so I can
see again, be again.
Lord, hold me firm in your love,
breathe the breath of creation
into my lungs and make me
whole again – alive in the wonder
of the Divine within,
a Soul on fire with grace,
a spirit bursting, evolving,
becoming you, infinite life,
infinite love, one with all creation.
Lord, hold me firm in your love,
a womb of love – nourishing –
nurturing – protected, enveloped
by the fluid of creation alive.
Lord, now I walk the Crystal Path –
I see the Heartlights,
knowing full well the end,
accepting the beginning,
all is as it must be, should be,
is meant to be - alive in you.

OUR SOULFUL VOICE RESOUNDING
DAILY POST ON ENLIGHTENMENT
In my opinion, the only criterion for a successful spiritual quest is the ability to foster and maintain an ongoing personal connection/relationship with the Divine. I believe God does not care what vehicle we use to reach this connection, only that we do. So we can chant, pray, sing, meditate, dance, bow, kneel, bounce, and be mindful – the method or path chosen is not the sole determiner of spiritual success. Only the connection and this actual connection, again, in my opinion, can be accomplished through words, music, dreams, inspirations, voices, signs, signals, visions, imaginings, or the arts – here, again, I believe God is entirely flexible, ready, and surely able to communicate in whatever way will best foster this ongoing, personal relationship. With this connection actuated, the poem/note below serves as a reminder that we may now be ready to move forward, ignite our true, authentic passion, and offer our unique contribution to let our soulful voices resound.
OUR SOULFUL VOICE RESOUNDING - POEM
We are each now complete and ready to proceed,
to progress onward, sure-footed, clear-hearted,
realizing all paths lead to a full and clear destiny,
a time of open and complete awareness,
a period of fluid, unobstructed being, a flourishing,
an elevated unrestricted consciousness, what is
and always was the essence, the idea, the spark
capable of igniting our unique passion, our raging
offering to God and man alike, a crisp expression
of our “whyness,” our heartlight connected
and charged, animated, alive, sincere, perpetually
vibrant, our Soulful voice resounding.

WITHIN THE SEED OF SELF / MEDITATION GUIDANCE
There is only one self – the Divine self - the authentic self –
connected to God – of God - programmed to evolve into
the true purpose of our life here on earth – our life in
physical form. Within the seed of this self is all we need
for flowering into the true essence and beauty of our
unique Soul and fulfill our Divine purpose.
When we move beyond the pleasure of our senses,
the separation of our ego, and move to the place of perfect
peace, awake to the true Divinity of all existence,
our authentic self is revealed. A place beyond reward,
success or failure, punishment or pain – to a plane
of peace and oneness within and without.
Residing in the authentic self, we master the material
world and evolve into the spiritual world – we awake
and see the truth of this life – that only one life exists –
a life within God. As we approach our authentic Divine
nature, our egos will resist – bathe them in love – wrap
them in a blanket to help them evolve and enlighten.
There is only one God and oneself – the self-alive in God –
the authentic self.

LIFE IN INCUBATION
DAILY POST ON ENLIGHTENMENT
New Thought hinges on the creative power of our thoughts, emotions, and mental renderings. Not realizing this aspect of our power has resulted in the negative creations we all face in our tumultuous modern world. Tending to our thoughts, no matter how seemingly inconsequential, is the direction of the note below; understanding the very nature of thought to materialize, we are directed to prune and weed our thoughts so only the healthy sprouts, those that inspire, remain for the harvest. As I write this, I am thinking about my thoughts lately, which are more chaotic than empowering and confused than hopeful, and I am thankful for this reminder.
LIFE IN INCUBATION - AFFIRMATIVE THOUGHT
In a moment of sincere reflection, often
we find ourselves adrift in a consciousness
of wakeful dreams whose meanings
and messages often escape our grasp,
placeholders for our focused attention,
when we take hold of thoughts and
dreams alike, infusing our clear intent.
Today, we realize every thought, vision,
dream or fantasy is a potential reality
forming, life in incubation, an expression
of possibility - our role is to give meaning
and purpose to these drifting scenarios,
feeding each our preordained direction,
our will-based desire, our greater intent.
Let us, today, fully grasp this creative
power, stoking it with positive concepts,
affirmations, visions of growth, becoming,
and worthy evolution - words and thoughts
that inspire – robust dreams of magnificent
doings - oozing with vitality, thriving with
possibility, glistening with joyous intent.

INNER WISDOM - AFFIRMATIVE THOUGHT
Today, let us listen to our inner wisdom,
our Divine guidance, our voice of insight
when faced with the challenges of life –
knowing that within us exists an inspired
source to light the way.
Today, let us recognize this wise voice by
its positive, life-affirming, compassionate
message – always building us up to reach
greater heights – always aiming to help
us see clearer and farther – a voice of
clarity and sanity, patiently maneuvering
our lives around our ego-driven desires.
Today, let us take a moment when needed
to go within - for the answers that
have already been addressed – for the
gentle voice waiting to love us through
the day – for the authentic voice assisting
us in our becoming more and reaching
our true potential. Let us fully use our
Divine guidance system!

FULL IMMERSION
DAILY POST ON ENLIGHTENMENT
Immersion - the act of immersing (dipping or submerging)
someone or something in liquid, deep mental involvement,
baptism by immersing a person bodily.
Some words are more potent than others, in both a secular and a spiritual sense; "immersion" is one of them. It calls for total commitment linked with baptism and contemplation, seemingly disavowing any notion of being partially involved. As the note below conveys, in a spiritual sense, there is no partial or half-living of our authentic lives - being half-authentic seems to be missing the mark. Sometimes I need to remind myself that to obtain enlightenment, I must be fully immersed in this spiritual pursuit, even if this is not easy. At the core of any spiritual quest, there needs to be a Divine connection where we take the time to commune with God, Spirit, Source, the Beloved, or whatever name we feel most comfortable using. Although I believe that entering the silence while meditating sets the stage for us to hear the voice within our Souls whispering a message, I also realize that through the very act of living, our Souls are linked with the Divine to convey the wisdom we are intended to comprehend.
Let's all opt for full immersion today.
FULL IMMERSION - AFFIRMATIVE THOUGHT
Today, let us allow our lives to speak
to us, providing gentle but useful
direction as to the next step and
the way forward – knowing within
these moments of living a lesson
is revealed.
Today, let us hear the voice within
our Souls whispering a message so
clear and significant, it resonates
a warmth, an inner peace, a beating
out a rhythm of wisdom as our
hearts leap, and our feet dance.
Today, let us understand no partial
or half-living our authentic lives
will do; let us realize only full
immersion will ease our hungry
spirits wishing to make every
moment count, every day a festival
of intended happiness enjoyed.

The message up to this point has been clear – the obtainment of spiritual enlightenment - experiencing true heaven on earth through living a life centered in joy, peace, love, and happiness - is what God wants and has planned for each of us if only we will participate. The guidance outlined so far indicates that we need to take the following four significant steps outlined below and detailed in previous chapters to start our spiritual journey in the right direction:
Step1. Focus on obtaining a lasting and meaningful relationship with God. The approach discussed in depth outlines how to enter into “the silence” while engaged in contemplative prayer or meditation and listening for God’s guidance. This connection can also be made quite effectively through worship, dream interpretation, journaling, the creative arts, or day-to-day living.
Step 2. Establish a level playing field by harnessing our mind chatter, incorporating our egos in our spiritual pursuits, and overcoming our fears, doubts, and worries.
Step 3. Understand and master techniques such as mindfulness, non-resistance, acceptance, affirmative thought, envisioning, and other related New Thought techniques discussed in Chapter Eleven.
Step 4. Discover an authentic spiritual and life purpose by exploring our Divinity and evolving.
Yet, Jung finishes The Undiscovered Self with this insight: “The very fact that through self–knowledge i.e., by exploring our own Souls, we come upon the instincts and their world of imagery that should throw some light on the powers slumbering in the psyche.” The Affirmative Thought below, titled True Spiritual Power, explores this insight.
TRUE SPIRITUAL POWER - AFFIRMATIVE THOUGHT
Today, return to your true spiritual power
and the ability to tap the God within you –
the Divinity waiting to evolve you and transform
you into a work of art – inspired art capable of
molding, creating, and shaping the world.
Today, return to your true spiritual connection –
a connection with the consciousness of God –
the living spirit of God always teamed with
all who have ever carried the banner of God’s
power in the world – with every spiritual leader
who has ever existed waiting to guide you to a
better life.
Today, return to your true intentions – your
inspired intentions and know you have
the power to bring them to life – give them
form, and create a life worth living –
a thriving life – a vibrant life – your perfect life.

CLOSING NOTE ON ENLIGHTENMENT
We must do the work needed to clear the way for our Crystal or Divine Self to be uncovered, including forgiving ourselves and others, letting go of our shame and guilt, and confronting our real or imagined demons. Jung noted in his powerful book on the complexity of the human mind – The Undiscovered Self – “It is this fear of the unconscious psyche which not only impedes self-knowledge but is the gravest obstacle to the wider understanding of psychology.” Yet, as the Meditation Guidance, titled Storm Of The Soul, below imparts, it is often just this level of turmoil that results in the catharsis that was needed all along.
STORM OF THE SOUL - MEDITATION GUIDANCE
Listen to the turmoil – hear what it has to say to you –
understand its messages – decipher its intent, for it is
a living thing waiting to be heard, waiting for its turn,
waiting for its ascension – its anointing with the oil of
your focus.
Listen to the turmoil – go within the mental confusion,
feel the cyclone of emotions and desires swirl around
and into your awareness. This is a storm of the Soul
and must be experienced, assimilated, and fully lived
to proceed. Let it rage – accept its commotion as a sign
of deliverance, as a new beginning forming in chaos.
Listen to the turmoil within – let it have its way with you –
let the ground of your consciousness shake until it cracks,
severs and lets go of its creation within – bursting forth
a new vision – a new thought – a new way of living and
proceeding.
Listen to the turmoil within, and it will make you whole –
complete – evolving your consciousness to the clarity of
being – a return to wholeness, oneness, and tranquility.

CLOSING AFFIRMATION
Yes, we are attempting to discover our Crystal or Divine Self to harmonize with Universal God-Consciousness in the blended vibration of one powerful voice, distinct but united. We understand that enlightenment is reflected in our ability to harmonize vibrational oneness with all existence—one unified harmonic voice. As we proceed, I hope to show the power and appeal of this blended awareness to every Soul on this planet.
When we do this work, guidance can speak to us and lead us to the magnificence that waits within us, the firework of our authentic, purposeful self. The following Affirmative Thought expresses this sentiment.
A MIRACLE WAITING WITHIN - AFFIRMATIVE THOUGHT
Within us is a miracle waiting to happen –
to burst forth and surprise us – forcing
us to see a new vision of our lives,
our connection with God, and
the potential value of all we have to offer.
Within us is a miracle so mighty and
potent we are often afraid to unwrap it –
to disturb its restful state because we know
it will bring about a transformation
so profound we will be forced to re-conceive
our lives and start again like an infant
learning to master the art of walking.
Within us is a miracle that exists just
beneath the surface of our awareness
which bobs up to pierce the surface –
blinding us momentarily, then submerging
beneath to wait for another opportunity
to reveal the truth.

ONE HEART - A SPIRITUAL ANTHEM
I attended a Unity service with songwriter JD Martin and his wife, the internationally renowned jazz singer Jan Garret, performing their spiritual songwriting for the congregation.
As I listened, I was overcome by the beauty and profound wonder of the message of this song, One Heart, offered below on YouTube. It capsulized everything I was trying to convey on my blog and in this book. I began this book with a JD Martin and Jan Garret song titled Listen; I was always planning to feature this video of this song, One Heart, to complete this book musically.
I believe One Heart is a spiritual anthem for our age, so I will let JD and Jan tell you the story of its writing. Please know—you are not alone.
ONE HEART, PERFORMED BY JD MARTIN AND JAN GARRETT
THERE'S A NEW CHURCH (EARTH) ON THE HORIZON
MADE OF LIGHT, NOT OF STONE
CALLING OUT TO ALL CREATION
YOU ARE NOT ALONE
LIONS AND LAMBS, SAINTS AND SINNERS
BEST OF FRIENDS, ENEMIES
WOMAN AND MAN, LOSERS AND WINNERS
THEY ARE ALL IN YOU AND ME...WE ARE
CHORUS
ONE HEART...LOOKING FOR ANSWERS
ONE SOUL...FINDING OUR WAY IN THE DARK
ONE DREAM...WE SHARE TOGETHER
WE ARE ALL A PART OF ONE HEART
OUT IN THE COLD THERE ARE FACES
HIDDEN BY THE WIND AND RAIN
HOLD OUT YOUR HAND; SOMEONE WILL TAKE IT
AND BRING YOU HOME AGAIN
REPEAT CHORUS
AROUND THE EARTH TONIGHT
THE FIRES ARE BURNING
TEARS ARE FALLING FROM THE SKY
STILL THE WORLD KEEPS TURNING
REPEAT CHORUS
Thank you for joining me on this spiritual quest. I wish you the best on your spiritual travels.
