Life is a process of evolving from our

comfortable, steady, safe state – when our

Souls awake full of the desire for freshness,

new air to breathe, a better vantage point,

a more prominent placement; and before

we know it; we are shedding the dry and

brittle skin of our current inhabitance,

preparing to swap it all for the moist

and fragrant wrapping of more appropriate

existence, as we open ourselves up to the

newness – knowing full well that this

is our destiny - to advance is sublime,

to refuse is to deteriorate.

 

Let us grab hold of the day, this day,

and shake the very life out of it.

 

THE PROSPECT OF NEWNESS

Let us open ourselves up to the prospect

of newness, waiting there right around

the corner for us to arrive when days

no longer follow a predestined pattern,

but must be explored, tried on for size,

given a whirl.

 

It is precisely these moments when

we are most alive and aware with our

autopilot disengaged – our insight

and inspiration sparking dormant

creative urges, our Souls reconnecting

with more authentic intentions.

 

As we are given the opportunity

to shed the skin of our prior life,

let us embrace the transformation,

opening our hearts and minds

with joy and positive expectation,

ready to be empowered, to grow again,

encountering ourselves once more –

refreshed, fully alive, and awakened.

resolute (adj) – admirably purposeful,

determined, unwavering. The thesaurus

adds – single-minded, steadfast, stalwart,

persistent, tenacious, strong-willed.

 

There is often so much about our modern

world that suggests ethical flexibility may

actually, be a virtue rather than a misstep.

The cutting of corners often seems prudent,

especially given that  “others” are most

certainly engaged in similar actions.

Yet, to be authentic, my guidance reminds

to be resolute in regards to the truth -

our truth, our vision of the way the world

should be approached and manifested.

 

OUR BOND 

Standing tall before adversity is the quality

of leaders and heroes; refusing to back

down or shift course when either approach

might be considered tenable; tests our

tenacity, displays our resolve, focuses our

will.

 

Today, if life requires our rubber stamp,

let’s take ample time to survey the alternatives,

responding after careful reflection, under-

standing the quick decision often bounces

back to create havoc for the stamper.

 

As we proceed, let’s be fully aware of the

weight and significance of our vote, our

agreement, our support, our decision,

our course of action – accepting that our

endorsement carries with it our conviction,

our word, our truth, our conscience in

action, in short, our bond not lightly given.

A FORMING ORDER 

All the bits and pieces now strewn

across our lives, in time will find

their place, fulfill their purpose;

but for now, they must be patiently

and gracefully given room to settle

in, refine and adapt, to discover

their appropriate niche.

 

Let us follow suit, rolling with the

pats and punches, pliable and

malleable, stretching our arms

around the gentle mayhem –

all inclusive, comfortable with

the diverse views and perspectives.

 

As we do, know, within even this

seeming chaos exists a forming order,

setting the stage for a more essential

and commanding purposefulness –

a life more adequate than now imagined,

a destiny that serves us and all who

care to benefit – an effort of grace

and human will intertwined!
