As happens to me from time to time, I am

inspired to see my work in a new, or at least,

more ripe or refreshing way. Such is my

epiphany last week, with my realization, 

that what I am, is a “listener,” using meditation

and prayer to commune with my inner connected 

Divine consciousness, asking for guidance, 

sometimes general, other times specific,

and recording what I hear in response.

 

I often think, perhaps the reality of this

note-writing endeavor I chronicle on this blog,

is to carry a message to some targeted reader

or readers, now or in the future, who will use

these inspired words to create positive change. 

 

Yet, most of the time, I intuitively know this is

not my concern, so I record what I hear, possibly

attempt an explanation, then move on knowing

there will actually be, as many translations of the

note as there are readers.

Today I offer a familiar blaze.

 

A FAMILIAR BLAZE 

Finding clarity midst the tumult

takes vigilance, harnessing disparate

thoughts, errant emotions, confused

desires, all beckoning for valid attention,

all worthy, yet all missing the point -

as alternative perspectives collide

and tumble in confusion.

 

Perhaps it is precisely at this impasse

when we must return to our original

purpose, created during more sincere

times, connected times, when effective

trumped all inclusive, when earnest

meant more than comprehensive.

 

With this in mind, let us collect our

thoughts like kindling for a welcomed

fire, a familiar blaze, as smoke gives

way to flame, our balanced restored,

our breath well tended, as once more

we proceed with the tried and true,

heartfelt, and sensible – as our

marker on this journey’s path, ready

and surely able to travel on ignited.

VAST POOL  

Within you exists

a vast pool of love,

sit with it today,

let it nourish you,

this is the elixir,

the fountain of youth,

the healing spring.

HEART-TO-HEART CONNECTION

In order to build ourselves, to nourish and

expand, we must encourage our positive

emotions, as positive beings these emotions

will fuel our transformation, our broadening

consciousness.

 

Kindness, compassion, empathy, sympathy,

heart-to-heart connection, present in even the

simplest of human interaction, an expression

of our understanding of our essential kinship,

our combined genetic origin, the initial

primordial communal animation.

TENDER ACTION

Be tender, with this life, with your heart,

with others you share this life with, be tender,

watchful not to upset, or harm, or neglect,

capable of being touching and loving, living

with a capacity of empathy, sensitivity,

and caring.

 

Be tender, do not expect more than you

can give, more than you can live, understand

the complexity of conscious existence and

become its champion through tender action.

 

Be tender, reach out into this life with softness,

meek in action, with a deep regard for all who

co-inhabit existence, let go of the negative,

the critical, the self-righteous.

 

Be tender, allowing kindness and compassion

to proceed as the first reaction, the lasting

tribute of your existence.

 

Be tender.
