CONSCIOUS EXTENSION

You are consciousness within a greater

consciousness, a subset of a universal

or God-consciousness, which is the power

and force of all eternal existence, alive in

its knowingness – immersed in its potential –

more than alive – the edge of conception

forming, becoming, re-being – beating with

a pulse of silent thunder – breathing life in

and out with waves of clear, fresh, fragrant,

existence.

 

You are the living essence of this consciousness –

its voyager in the world, its experiencer,

its sensor of consciousness alive –

able to cocreate, propagate, procreate more

tentacles of conscious awareness – capable of

extending and reforming the boundaries of

perfect life alive. You are part of the flesh,

the cells, the sentient fabric of God-consciousness –

an extender of God in form – a God all its own.

The word “passion”  has always been both

fascinating and mysterious to me, with its

many definitions, including a strong and

barely controllable emotion, an intense

desire or enthusiasm for something or an

intense sexual love.

 

To make the word passion almost mystical,

we have the “Passion of Christ,” which seems 

to focus on his suffering and death or a

“passion flower,” an evergreen with flowers

that resemble the crucifixion or just a

"passion fruit,” a kind of passion flower 

that bears a purple fruit.

 

When referring  to living an “authentic,

purposeful life,” passion takes on a spiritual

and poetic meaning – when we find our

passion, we find what it is that takes our

breath away. I offer the poem below, which

expresses this definition.  

 

May we all find our passion and live it,

cherish it, and never let it out of our sight.

                  

YOUR PASSION

Today, work to find what it is that takes

    your breath away – that causes you

to vibrate in wonder and want to suck

    the moment into your soul, savoring every

sense, every nuance, every bit of the joy.

 

Today, work to find your passion,

    allowing it to overwhelm you –

move through you, wash over you,

    and electrify each cell of your being,

each thought, each moment of living.

 

Today, realizing these experiences,

    and more; wait for you to see

the world through God’s eyes –

    a magical world of Divine creation –

beckoning you to revel.

Let us realize we learn from every event,

circumstance, or happenstance in our lives -

each providing a lesson, a learning, a clarification,

helping us to see clearer, live more productively,

and be more whole and authentic. 

 

Let us fully embrace these life lessons, growing

and evolving with their messages, knowing

we are one step closer to our destination,

our inner Soulful vision - allowing

the experience to make our stride firmer,

surer, more confident, and committed. 

 

Let us return to a patient equilibrium today,

finding our balance, our secret center, glad

and grateful for the opportunity, for the growth

and development provided for enhancing

our being, ready to forge on with our quest

for fuller living.
