As I get older, I realize that many of my
most painful moments, could now,
in retrospect, be considered blessings
in disguise. Since such a determination
requires hindsight, we must muddle
through. In the end, as the note conveys,
our best strategy may be to repeat our
affirmative prayers, step back, and then,
let it be.
DISGUISED BLESSING
A blessing in disguise is often hard
to fathom, especially when the consequences
or circumstances present no clear
distinction – when our desires appear
thwarted, our hopes dashed, plans stalled,
our dreams set asunder.
There we often sit transfixed –waiting and
wondering why fate, Providence, or possibly,
just bad luck – has ransacked our future,
leaving us bewildered and uninspired.
As we resist the advice to “see the good in it,”
or “through the veiled disguise,” perhaps
consider a moratorium, suspending speculation
or halfhearted effort, taking the time to refocus,
reframe, and repeat our original prayerful
incantation, then stepping back with expectation,
belief, and let it be.
