OASIS OF SPIRIT 

An oasis of spirit waits within, even

in the most tumultuous of times,

to provide a respite from the noise

of the world – a place of peace and

harmony – a center of God’s grace –

by simply focusing on your breath,

your heart, and what you love –

you will be replenished and renewed.

 

This oasis of spirit welcomes you with

open arms whenever you arrive –

always ready to soothe your suffering,

clear away your fears, dispel your doubts

and revitalize your convictions –

preparing you to return refreshed.

 

Knowing this oasis of spirit is God’s gift

to you, to soften the ride – ease the

journey, as you grow and evolve –

as you learn what must be understood,

and travel on your spiritual way.

notion - a vague idea in which some

      confidence is placed.

 

We each have a notion about our lives,

a premise based on a concept or belief,

maybe just a vague idea as conveyed in

the definition shared above, more often

an ego-based assessment of what is

actually occurring in our existence. 

We layer these notions into a workable

theory, and through actual experience,

we acquire subjective empirical evidence

to give it a basis in truth.

 

We squint our mind's eye in our spiritual

pursuits and attempt the same undertaking. 

Personally, I am forever envisioning

the perfectly orchestrated world of

God-consciousness ordered and sound.

As the note below conveys, the inspired

messages I receive often follow suit.

 

What is your notion?

 

PERFECT ORDER

Today let us look through what appears

to be, to what really is, realizing beneath

the seeming confusion is a world of Divine

order with each moment and event perfectly

placed and unfolding.

 

Today let us accept and trust this order

knowing only graceful good waits for our

partaking – well beneath the surface of

our fears or doubts flow the stream

of peace and calm – placidly serene.

 

Today let us embrace this perfect order

allowing it to set in tranquil motion all our

undertakings – each salient expectation –

inspiring our untapped creative essence

as we are gently guided towards our

full unfolding.

INTENDED COURSE

Today refuse to allow circumstance

or suggestion to throw you off your

intended course – clearly focusing on

the path ahead, knowing what has been

set in motion must be propelled to

its expected destination.

 

Today set concern or second-guessing

aside reminding all involved of promises

made, and the foundations previously

etched in strong consensus – relaying

to all, that fear is a weak excuse for

infringing on forward progress.

 

Today be bold, clear, and directive,

unwavering in your confidence,

unmoved by rough seas – proceeding

with a sense of duly ordained providence,

well entrenched in your expectation of

success and lasting contribution,

complete with gratitude for both.

Perhaps we have become too tame,

too civilized, too cultured; and in our 

indoctrination, perhaps, we have lost

the sight of who we are, unable to howl

fully, to roar, to dance to the ecstasy

 

of  being.  

 

REFUSING TO BE TAMED

Let us sit upon this universal life

and breathe freely, for we are alive,

flourishing, enormously prepared

to enjoy each moment, celebrate

every gesture, announce to the skies 

our destiny, our purpose, unwilling

to stand solemnly or in repose; instead,

joyfully flinging our every limb,

physically testifying to the eternal truth

of our being – aliveness so worthy

and strong, we, the participants,

the bearers of connected existence –

God’s chosen, everyone alike,

refusing to be tamed.

A while back, I downloaded from iTunes

a series of  New Dimensions Radio interview

programs, which featured Dr. Wayne Dyer.

One of the programs, from the late 1990’s,

was a discussion centering on Dyer’s, then

recently published 1998 book titled Wisdom

Of The Ages, 60 Days To Enlightenment.  

 

I decided to buy the iBook and read one

of the sixty quotes each morning, as an

addition to my morning meditation and

prayer practice.

 

A favorite quote of mine was on the topic

of Divinity, featuring Epictetus (55-135 AD), 

an emancipated slave who later became 

a Greek Stoic philosopher:

 

You are a distinct portion of the essence

of God in yourself. Why, then, are you ignorant

of your noble birth? Why do you not consider

whence you came? Why do you not remember

when you are eating, who you are who eat;

and whom you feed: do you not know it is

the Divine you feed; the Divine you exercise?

You carry a God about with you.

 

I finished my reading, began to meditate, 

and, as I usually do, ask for guidance. 

I received the following message:

Open your mind to the sheer power that

runs through you, fully embrace the enormous

power flowing through every fiber, every

cell of your being, the Divine power,

the essence of God within you – dive deep

within its holy fluidness, wash away

the doubt and confusion left unguarded,

creating what is without substance or merit:

instead; today, stand firm and positive, 

clearly focused on strength, wisdom, 

hope, compassion, and creative energy 

that is your birthright; flex your creative

God power, reframing the static transmission,

replacing it with full and vibrant definiteness,

fantastically ripe and waiting to emulate your

every dream, to inculcate your consciousness,

ready to plant, grow, and harvest a reality

without bounds – robust and purposeful.

In this world, which is often focused on making

us over, improving us through special products

or fitness programs, challenging us to be more

of what is needed to be considered successful, 

beautiful, or lovable - I feel it is necessary from

time to time to remind ourselves that we are not

a lump of clay to be molded into some ubiquitous

expectation of perfection, but rather a unique

creation of Divine wonder to be allowed to unfold

and flower into the authentic creation we were 

intended to be. Here is an Affirmative Thought

to help us recall our true purpose in this,

the adventure we call life.  

 

CELEBRATE WHO YOU ARE

Today celebrate who you are –

    a wonderful, unique being never to

be replicated or repeated again –

    a work of Divine creative art ready

to demonstrate to the world your

    one-of-a-kind contribution as a  

Divinely-inspired authentic creation.

 

Today celebrate who you are –

    realizing every thought, every

emotion, every action is a reflection

    of the expanded, evolving you that

pushes the confines of others view

    of you – refusing to be classified

by the expectations of this world.

 

Today celebrate who you are –

    thankful for every strength and talent

as well as every quirk or flare that

    adds color and vibrancy to your nature,

as you mesmerize us all with your charms.
