OUR INTERNAL MUSE

Perhaps we are better prepared to live

this life successfully than we believe,

could it be, in our pursuit to do what

is correct, proper, or expected, we fail

to listen to the guidance generated

by our own internal muse, our deep

soulful longing.

 

Ah, you say - "mine has no sense of

propriety, wanting to do only what

would make me happy in the end,

I might spend my time singing,

dancing, and celebrating - how

would I survive?"

 

As we return to sanity and don the

hair shirt of our existence once more,

often strangely comfortable in our

required discomfort, let us take notice

of the inner voice we mute, peering

deep within to cautiously redirect

our efforts, perhaps.

What stories do you carry in your head

about yourself? Are these stories of

strength, fortitude, and overcoming;

or perhaps, not so potent, but still

well-meaning? 

 

Yet, if they appear to be anything

other than empowering, I suggest you

take the advice offered in the note below,

and begin to rewrite these stories, reframe

these stories, reimagine these stories.

Remember – please – always - that you,

me, we, are all worthy of stellar stories!

 

STELLAR STORIES 

Today, let’s allow our imaginations to run

wild, as we begin rewriting every story,

in our heads, about ourselves, that may

need some positive editing, finding a

more appealing interpretation: one built

on strength rather than weakness, one

built on hope rather than dismay.

 

As we consider this revamping, let us

be sure to provide a successful future

for our imaginings, with issues resolved;

obstacles overcome; forging a hero’s

perspective, as we arrive victorious to

claim our well-earned recognition and

rewards.

 

Let us proceed with our newly refined

arsenal of stellar stories, full and

overflowing with excerpts of triumph,

refusing to ever again vibrate less or

lack or distraught to a fully reciprocating

universe; ready to see our visions take

form, robust, and flourishing.

OUR SECRET 

Perhaps we exist just for this moment,

or quite possibly, we have always existed,

a flexible consciousness stretched through

eternity, either way, our work now requires

our complete and undivided attention, as

what if's give way to what is, a life in the

making.

 

More is expected of us in this evolving life

than meets the eye, we carry within each

of us a secret, a one-of-a-kind ingredient,

our unique contribution, which when

shared, impacts all of conscious existence,

shifting the very sands of our beingness,

offering a new color to the palate of life.

 

Perhaps we are in the midst of doing what

has been ordained, or strangely aware

of the desire unfolding within us, or just

perplexed by the entire concept; wherever

we now fall in the continuum of becoming,

know all the forces of nature are poised

to assist with each sharing, set for our

unveiling.

Even as I am overcome with nature induced

existential ennui, my soul tries to revive me

and set me back on course with encouraging

and empowering messages, like the one I have

offer here, titled Earnest Progress.

 

As I instinctually scowl at this sentiment

of worthy momentum, I am struck by its

simple truth, that whatever our temporary,

or permanent life incapacitation may entail –

whether physical, mental, economic, social,

cultural, spiritual, or, as in this case – natural –

that keeps us from fully functioning, what we

might want to do, rather than scowling, is

consider the incapacitation confronting us

as a “life cap,” behooving us to reach deep

within to overcome, work around, or work

with this life cap - incorporating it in

the accomplishment of our earnest progress.

 

EARNEST PROGRESS

This day, new, vibrant,

    fresh – waiting for our

touch – our gentle leaning in

     and forward motion – guiding

the possibilities, determining

    the outcomes, grasping it all

with full vigor.

 

Feel the pulse of its being,

     purposeful, intent on full

becoming,  its aliveness ready

      to mirror whatever hope,

or reason, or common desire;

     input or creative thrust;

begging to be enabled and

     allowed to appear in total.

 

Harness its functionality, grip

      the reins, wrenching it in

positive and productive

      confluence – allowing

heart, soul, and consciousness

      to meld, melting, then

molding into the tangible

      expression of a leap

forward – worthy momentum,

      earnest progress.

THE SPOT

Life is expression, full and robust,

the demonstration of a flowing and

the flowering of intention, the consequences

of existence in all its forms and varieties,  

extending to reach through and beyond,

to grasp possibility and potential,

willing both into tangible substance,

experienceable being.

 

Every part and parcel of this orchestration

that enlivens our souls; pumps our lungs,

maintains our equilibrium, displays our

consciousness; is an active agent of life

evolving, the tentacles of God reaching,

imagining, envisioning via each sentient

presence through each awareness.

 

We, you and me, us all represent

the ultimate testament to this force

of natural striving, this divine reaching,

this roar of heartfelt becoming, fresh

in its order, always presenting a continual

newness, an infinite surprise, a possibility

reachable but beyond reach, a solitary point

where life unfolds, erupts, comes, goes, and

becomes again: the spot of infinite unfolding.
