SPIRITUAL BALANCE

As days become weeks and weeks years,

let us assess our progress, our current

state of spiritual balance, our equilibrium;

have the vicissitudes of this life knocked

us off-center has the inevitable suffering

tarnished our enthusiasm; perhaps

unfathomable distress or, even horror,

has shaken the foundation, the resolve,

of our singular belief.

 

Do we stand today dazed and shattered,

rather than secure and hopeful?

If so, let us not move away from our

rightful malaise, but instead embrace it,

incorporating the worse life sometimes

inflicts into a more workable being,

a comprehensive perspective where the

agonies and the ecstasies of daily living

fail to define us, or determine us,

or waylay us: rather letting each in turn

secure us, fasten us, even bolt us to our

faith, our belief, our spiritual destiny.
