PERSONAL, AND CONTEMPLATIVE SPIRITUALITY
OFFERED FREE AT
To prepare for my morning meditation practice,
I often select a reading from the compilation
of daily meditations titled 365 TAO, offered by
Taoist monk, scholar, philosopher, poet, and
the author of eight books - Deng Ming-Dao.
Since my undergraduate college days at Temple
University, when I first discovered and fell in love
with the beauty, simplicity, and clarity of Taoism,
I have found the Taoist message resonates with
my soul.
The 365 TAO daily offering often begins with
a poem:
Tao is within us; Tao surrounds us.
Part of it may be sensed.
And is called manifestation.
Part of it is unseen,
And is called void.
To be with Tao is harmony.
To separate from Tao is disaster.
To act with Tao, observe and follow.
To know Tao, be still and look within
As I ruminated on the significance of this
passage, I was reminded of an Affirmative
Thought I had written a few months back,
but never posted titled True Being.
I realize now that this thought complements
my post earlier this week titled Miracle Of Being.
We seem to participate in the miracle of an
existence, that is on purpose, for a purpose,
and by purpose.
TRUE BEING
Let us proceed today with a sense of wonder,
aware of the magnificence that surrounds us,
a divine essence running within and through us
and all creation – the spirit of God
manifested tangible, whole, and complete.
Let us demonstrate today the miracle of being,
our pursuit of extended life as divine awareness
in physical, purposeful form,
able and ready to nourish ourselves and others
with a fuller vision of perfect possibility.
Let us transcend today the fog and distortion
of misdirected perception, knowing we have
the soulful strength to see through the illusion,
with clear eyes, eyes that reflect a wider,
more fragrant and robust being,
our true being, perfect life alive.
