Having a place of peace to escape to
in our often tumultuous world - a safe
haven where we are able to find repose;
to buffer the tug of expectations; the
perpetually irate frenzy of this life’s
demands; or just the dreams so
seemingly, solidly, stuck in a Lucite
like holding pattern: is existentially
restorative. May you find your oasis
and be able to visit there often.
OASIS OF PEACE REVISITED
Within, there is an oasis of peace,
a place of serenity and quiet,
a retreat for when our lives
are too boisterous, noisy, or just
unappealing: practice with eyes
closed, focusing on the in and out
of each breath.
As we practice, let us visualize a lake
so singular, its crystal clear blueness
enthralls us, we are safe here, protected
here, a safe haven where sunrise and
sunset is mirrored in its calmness,
its placid reflection.
As breath follows breath, we allow
the lake’s peace to enter our every
cell, to become our consciousness,
to shelter us from the outside world,
here within we are at peace, tranquil,
serene, untroubled.
