Thursday morning of last week Ann and I got up
at 4:45 AM, dressed, took care of the dogs - Ann
had tea - I was fasting, then drove an hour so I
could have my Cardiac Cath at the hospital where
I have had four successful sugeries and all my
doctors and specialists practice and teach.
As I have posted, I had failed both my EKG and
Stress test so it looked like the heart bypass I
had in December of 2011 needed some shoring
up. Both Ann and I were concerned about this
new health development and worked hard with
our mind control, prayer, and meditation not
to fear the worst.
The Cardiologist who did my Cath was selected
by my heart surgeon, so we had not met. He
looked like he had stepped off the set of his
own Dr. Oz type television show and I had
to wonder if hollywood looks were a requisite
for this type of work.
The Cath began and after about forty minutes
he bent over my face and told me that I needed
a stent to make up for a bypass artery that was
not functioning. He said it was my choice, I
asked him what he would do, and he said put
in the stent.
I agreed, facetiously thinking that there should
be some kind of warranty on this work so these
expensive repairs would be free. After a few
failed attempts he was successful and I was
truly grateful to have avoided another surgery.
Ann and I spent the day trying to keep me still
so the artery that was used for the Cath could close
and the next day I was released from the hospital
and advised to allow a week to recuperate.
Needless to say we are thankful and grateful
that we were able to solve the issue without
surgery, and franky that I was still alive, and
except for a new piece of life giving hardware -
doing well. I am personally thankful, as always,
to have Ann in my life - who manges to get us
through these trying times.
This morning, as Ann prepared to return to
work and start her week, I transcribed the
note below that assists us with putting this
ordeal in perspective and positions us
to forge ahead together.
FORGE AHEAD TOGETHER
We together
have used our strength,
faith, and
courage to overcome the
issues of
life, to forge ahead with our
fear in tow returning
to a safe haven –
calm and poised
to tackle whatever lies
ahead.
We together
today return to active life
ready and fully
able to open our hearts
and minds to
what life has to offer –
refusing to
be waylaid by our own fears
or the
limited perspective of others -
instead we
forge ahead to grasp the
most that
life has to offer us, together.
We together,
let us be grateful for what
we have
received – healing, wholeness,
a chance to
live on together forging ahead
with
creating our dreams, expanding
our capacity
to live and love – to find
and forever
secure our heaven on earth.
