I woke up this morning with this thought:
what if my life today, right now, is the life
I look back on as the high point of my life,
where I was the most productive, the most
happy, the most contented.
As I approach the new year with resolutions
and plans for 2014, I realize, that in truth,
they are all very conditional, dependent
on a set of circumstances to be present.
Isn't this the truth about future living,
it is conditional, requiring the confluence
of multiple scenarios to actually take place.
With these thoughts in mind, I got up
and transcribed the note below. So today,
let the ongoing celebration of life commence.
And for all of us, I wish heaven on earth in
the new year!
ONGOING CELEBRATION OF LIFE
Let us remember and know fully that
this moment is the best moment,
that it is the only moment, always
eternally present – a place for life
to grow – an opportunity for us
to fully live.
Let us understand, when we step
out of this moment, we move into
the haze, the disquiet of blurred
thought and conflicting intentions –
sleeping through the moment in a
distorted dream, rather than living
focused and true.
Today, as we prepare for a new year,
let us realize, perhaps, the zenith
of our existence, the high point of
our lives, is not down the road yet
travelled, but the one beneath us
now – wake to its offering – an
ongoing celebration of life.
With Love, G.
